Geo-environmental investigation or geo-environmental engineering is the application of science and engineering principles to improve the environment (air, water, and/or land resources), to provide healthy water, air, and land for human habitation and for other organisms, and to remediate polluted sites.

A typical geo-environmental investigation for a site which is contaminated usually comprises a Phase 1 walkover and desk top study including a conceptual ground hazard model and preliminary risk assessment followed by a Phase 2 ground investigation with soil and ground water sampling and testing, detailed or generic risk analysis, the provision of a Phase 3 remediation strategy with the site finally being signed off with a Phase 4 validation exercise or performance monitoring.

Geoinvestigate provides a comprehensive geo-environmental investigation service and will liaise with the Environment Agency, Local Planning Authority (LPA), NHBC as appropriate to ensure that all the regulatory bodies and interested parties are kept informed and that there are no hidden surprises or costly delays which can often result from their not being kept in the loop.
